Tenacity 1927 - 1936

Since sea lions were so popular with visitors, Belle Benchley enlisted Charles Jensen, a famous lion, tiger, and seal trainer, to develop the Zoo’s first sea lion show. He worked with eight two-year-old sea lions named Jerry, Charlie, Sunny Boy, Harry, Crank, Bosco, Belle, and Baby, practicing in an area near where Spanish Village is now.
